Hi I'm trying to fit a standard 2.5 inch ssd into a 3,5 inch drive bay. I’ve tried all sorts of adapters/brackets but all are slightly too wide for the bay. A normal 3,5 disk fits no problem, just screws in. The case is very old, it’s a “HEC Micro ATX Media Center/HTPC Case 7K09 , 300W HEC-300FB-2RK “…..https://www.ebay.de/itm/304147694857

I’m wondering if there’s any sort of adjustable bracket out there? Anybody have a solution, or is it just not possible with this case? Obliged for any ideas here

I have had good luck with this style bracket:

Bracket

Key is to figure out the necessary alignment, mount the bracket on the SSD first and then slide the entire assembly into place as if it were a 3.5 inch HDD.

Google " 2.5 to 3.5 HDD brackets".

Filter to images to get a sense of all the options that are available.

Or if you don't mind the way it looks? Just drop it in the bay. Make sure it's not going to come in contact with any electronics, but it will work just fine without being mounted solidly like a HDD.
