Went from Intel to AMD now and bought a Asus Rog Strix B550-F Gaming WIFI II and Ryzen 7 5700x3d. I already had windows installed on one of the drives. The new system wasn`t very happy with this, so I tried a new install from a WMCT boot drive.
Long story short, I have 3 drives, one M2 Nvme and two ssd. I have now tried installing windows on all 3 individually, meaning the two others disconnected. First steps is ok, choosing version and so, but at first reboot it says "something went wrong during restart, please restart. Press OK". But at this point, neither mouse of keyboard works.
All disks are wiped clean as well. I tried bios setting OtherOS/UEFI, and enabling/disabling CSM just to see if it mattered. If CSM was enabled it stopped even earlier so guess that`s a no go. Dunno what to do now.
I`ve used media creation tool for both windows 10 and 11. 11 install says my system doesn?t meat the system requirements for W11. But doesn`t matter that either. Error error error.
Why can one just put the components in, stick the windows boot disk in and BOOM, happy all night long.
Had to put back my "old" Z590 card with the intel cpu and do a clean install, and it went like a charm. Only using windoes 10 flash drive though, W11 didn`t think my components was compatible enough.
But I must say, B550 board feels like a step down from the Z590 board. Both Rog Strix. Doesn`t have support for cabinet USB-C and have only 1 port for ADD RGB.
