[SOLVED] Can the Canon Pixma Pro-100 scanner work if the printer head is missing or dead ?

I'm in need of a scanner and someone is selling a Canon Pixma pro-100 for parts because the printer head is either missing or dead.
My question is would the scanner still work fine if the printer head was missing or dead? Any help is appreciated. Thanks a bunch

I had a Canon Pixma at one time (not sure of the model) but the scanner wouldn't work if the printer was out of ink, so I doubt that it would work missing the print head. The Canon drivers bundle the operations all-in-one.
