can the i7 2700K run with 2400mhz DDR3 Ram?

ok so i was watching this video on youtube by digitalfoundry and he was using a i5 2500K with DDR3 2133Mhz ram and saw a pretty big jump in performance and for some reason on intel's website and other websites it says that the i5 2500K cant use more than 1333mhz of ram frequency, same with the i7 2600K, and i7 2700K. can you utilize 2400Mhz of dual channel DDR3 Ram with a i7 2700K and i5 2500K?

There is the native speed that the CPU supports, for DDR 3 it is 1333, for ddr4 it 2133 for skylake and 2400 for kabylake.

Then there is the speed that the motherboard can overclock it to.

If you have a Z serries board you can run 2133 or 2400 mhz DDR3 memory with your i7 2700k.

Now with that said switching to 8gb or even more so 16gb ddr3 memory over your 1600 or less speed ram is not going to net near enough of a gain to warrent the cost of all new ram. In AMD land you can see noticable gains but with intel there is very few situations where the cost difference between normal and highspeed ram is worth it, let alone replacing it all together.
Money will be much better spent saving for a new platform.

i have four 4gb sticks of DDR3 2400mhz ram and ive been looking at the i7 2700K. if i were to get it and got a P67 motherboard instead of a z68 Motherboard could it utilize 2400mhz of my ram?, i have 2400mhz ram NOT 1600mhz.
