Can the PCIE riser cards used for mining also work for other PCIE cards such as sound card?

Hi all,

I was wondering will a pcie riser card such as this:

Work with other pcie devices such as a pcie x1 sound card or a pcie x 1 to usb 3.0 card. or are they just for graphics cards?

Those risers should work with just about any PCIe device.

I received it today but unfortunately it does not work with other pcie cards apart from graphics 🙁 i'm going to buy a pcie 1x ribbon riser cable instead.

What device are you trying to connect via the riser cable (make/model)? The issue could be that the specific device requires a certain level of PCIe support to work, a level that the x1 interface can't provide.
