hello! Recently i was wondering if playing 16x10 on 16x9 monitor could cause stuttering ?
im playing games for a while and i have huge problem with stuttering it makes it almost unplayeble but after i switched to 16 by 9 it became smaller (all games are mainly CPU based)
what could cause the stuttering ? my overclock is stable and my GPU drivers are up to date
games run mainly at an average frame rate of 160-200
PC SPECS
CASE: corssair spec-alpha
CPU: Intel i5 6600k(overclocked to 4.5 ghz)
MOBO:Gigabyte gaming K3
GPU:EVGA 970 OC
RAM:16 GB hyper x 2133 mhz
POWER SUPPLY: corssair gold 550 watt
COOLER: cooler master ....
WINDOWS: Windows 10

Solution
I would put a displayport cable on it my self or at least try one and see if makes any difference because my BENQ XL2720Z is great with one might need micro or mini adapters but very worth doing.

i have a BENQ XL2411 connected trough dvi cable sttutering starts mainly in multiplayer games mostly gunfights my cpu was overclocked before the stuttering started

If you are playing the game at 16x10 but your monitor's native aspect ratio is 16x9, then the video card is actually having to scale the output to the different resolution. the additional computation required could cause the stuttering.

do i need to change the res or is there any way around it

The easiest change is to change the resolution in the game so that it matches the native resolution of your monitor.
Hope that will stop the stuttering!

At most that would lower the FPS but it's such an easy task for GPUs that it wouldn't even make the FPS flicker.

Running games at 160-200FPS,basically max speed, is not the best idea because if the game hits a spot where it needs more work to be done you will get FPS drops, also if the OS has to do something you will feel it.

Also a lot of modern games stutter randomly no matter what system you have...
