1) I had issues with the EVGA 850GA Supernova with the RTX 3080 that I had. It would crash and the only way I could restart my PC was if I unplugged the cables from the GPU and then plugged them back in. If I tried restarting without doing so, the screen would stay black. I now have this Rog Strix 1000 watt. Will this be able to handle the spikes?

2) What company has the best version of the RTX 3080 in terms of performance, thermal pads, and better power limits to keep it from crashing? Is the Aorus Master considered a "good" card?

Solution
1)Yes.

2)I gotta split this one, because of this part: "to keep it from crashing?"
A: In terms of the best engineered cooler - from reading around, I'd say it's a toss-up between EVGA's FTW3 and Asus' Strix.
B: RTX 30 has some engineering flaws that don't appear to have anything to do with the partners directly. All the protections Nvidia has in these cards, and yet, specific titles/software out there can just snuff their lights out, just like that...
C: Hardware Unboxed reviewed this card. Thermal performance was shown to be mediocre. Well, if you look at the gpu shroud, it kind of makes sense.

Seasonic Focus under the hood. Probably no issues with the 1000w version but far from the best choice know that a Corsair RM750x do the same job much cheaper.

EVGA FTW3 and Asus TUF are good. No experience with Gigabyte.

I have a Gigabyte 3080 Gaming OC running on a 650w Seasonic Prime Ultra Platinum alongside a 3700x and it’s been rock solid since Sep-20.

As for the best 3080 I don’t know but from the reviews they all overclock to a very close margin of each other. However I gave up with overclocking, the gains were minimal and the extra heat wasn’t worth it. I have just tried undervolting and the results are surprisingly good. I have gone from an average gpu temperature of 80c during a couple of hours gaming to 67c with no perceivable loss in performance. Yes a 13c reduction.

No, and replacing thermal pads can be more trouble than they're worth.
-there's no testing standard among different pads.
-they come in different sizes.
-there's also different textures(soft, medium, firm, etc).
You can EASILY make things worse - such as pads not making proper contact, or actually warping the PCB - if someone else hasn't already tried it with a specific model.

So what company, would you say, have the best stock thermal pads? @Phaaze88

To give an example:
Msi's Suprim X 3080 uses Brand A, which are 2mm thick, and soft.
Their Gaming X Trio uses Brand A, which are 1.5mm thick, and firm.
Their Ventus 3X uses Brand B, which are 1.5mm thick, and medium.

You could get a Suprim X, get Brand X pads - because someone told you they were 'the best', only to find nothing changed, or things became worse.
