Hi,

Finally the computer has been choosen, and i'm ready to order. Before I do so, I wanted to hear if I can push this baby to 4ghz, and if you like the overall choices!?

As follow:

PSU:
Chieftec Super Series 750W PSU

RAM:
6GB Patriot Viper DDR3 PC3-12800

Mobo:
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R (rev. 1.0)

CPU:
Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66GHz

Cooling:
Corsair H50

HDD:
Kingston SSDNow V Series V+ GEN 2 64GB

GFX:
Radeon 5770
- This is here I save some coin. When it's too slow for me, I put it in CF.

Chasis:
Fractal Design

Monitor:
Asus VW246H

No guarantees ... ever ... but well-cooled 920s frequently reach speeds as high as 4GHz and seldom higher ... on Air.

Some do not. They are only guaranteed for 2.66 GHz ... "stock clock".

I don't need an gurantee, I'm just interested to hear if its possible with the ram, mobo, psu and cooling

And ... just to be as clear and as helpful, as possible ...

It is ** VERY ** likely that YOU will acheive 4.2GHz *IF* ...

(1) You switch to a Core i7-930 chip ... Rather than the 920.

(2) You employ a REALLY efficient Zahlman Cooler (or other great AIR cooler)

(3) Also go with (2x3GB) DDR3 1600 CAS7 RAM Triple Channel Kit

(4) Employ an ASUS or Gigabyte X58 Mobo.
