My Rig-
Ryzen 5 3500
MSI GTX 1660 Super Ventus OC 6GB
8x2Gb Corsair Ram at 3200 MHZ

I want to Buy a 32" 4k or a 2k monitor for watching 4k or 2k videos on Youtube and watching 4k Movies. But I want to play games on the same monitor at 1080p since my Rig will not hav enough juice to render 2k or 4k gaming at maxed out settings. So are there any technical problems that I can come across while playing at 1080p on a 2k or a 4k monitor?

Solution
that depends on monitor used, with lower resolution it will need to upscale it to 2k/4k which can result in blurry image if monitor doesnt have decent low latency image processing cpu to fix that
i personaly have no issues running 720p/1080p/2140p on 4k samsung 49" TV (it has 4 cores for image processing, ofc overclocked to keep latency low)

In my experience 4k monitor can be set to 1080p resolution as the monitor will simply treat a 2x2pixel space as if it were a single pixel ad it works fine.

You may hav eto ply around and see if you need to change your resolution in windows before you start thegame, i suspect you will.
