can we use 1600 nd 1333 ram together

Hi I'm a bit confused about the ram I use on my system. I'm using an asus m5a97 motherboard. And i have a 2gb corsair ram running at 1333 mhz. Since I'm not able to run new games on it I'm thinking of getting a new corsair vengeance of 1600mhz. So my question is will my system detect the entire 6gb?
Im sorry but I'm not into technical so I'm confused.
Please help

Yes ,it will but it will downclock the 1600 RAM to 1333 to match the other set of RAM. But it will all work together.
