About the connector melting problem, as far as I understand :
  1. It happens when the connector is not properly inserted, for example with an angle which prevents some of the pins from touching the contact area the intended way
  2. It happens when a lot of power (450w+) power is drawn by the GPU
  3. It can happen if debris accidentally gets into the connector
  4. Cables from PSU vendors are more reliable than the Nvidia adapter
If the above-mentioned is true, then what is the problem with bending the cable (say, the Corsair one) by 90 degrees even close to the connector? What difference does it make considering the cable itself is extremely stiff and the connector is seated properly? You still bend this cable in other parts when you cable manage it. What might happen in this case?

P.S. I know it's possible to order custom 90-180 degree adapters or whole cables from CableMod, Moddiy, etc., however I can't get them easily and quickly, also there are still melting cases with them. Also, Corsair has their own 180 degreee adapter, but it won't fit in my build
