Can you check my build?

What's the intended use? It appears to be gaming?

*That motherboard is going to need a BIOS update to support the KabyLake CPU
*The PSU is pretty poor

For 1080p gaming, the 7700K is overkill - the gains are there at 4K, but at lower resolutions, and i5 is more than sufficient.

This saves you a little bit of cash, gives you a quality PSU, a better cooler, faster RAM (available in a few different colors) & a compatible motherboard that won't require a BIOS update:

The ADATA SSD is in the same 'budget' range as the Crucial you suggested, and is a little cheaper.

As I mentioned though, the i5 should be sufficient. :

Thank you. Any suggestions for the mother board or psu? I am new at this and I have no idea what to get.
Thanks

Then either of those builds will be awesome for you.

The i7, as I mentioned is probably a little overkill - but hey, there's no harm in that.

Personally, I'd opt for the i5 + 1070 setup for 1080p/144Hz gaming, but the i7 is a powerhouse of a CPU too.

No, I'm not backwards there at all. The i7 will show gains in some titles at 4K, and in others, will perform near identical to the i5.
It's not just the GPu that comes into play at 4K, the CPU (depending on the title, of course) can play a big factor too.

At 1080p, the i7 will have zero benefit vs an i5 (and depending on specifics, the i5 may well win out).

1440p is a better choice.
@bnewlands32, the Gaming Pro Carbon isn't that good in terms of quality and features for the price.
This goes a bit over, but has a G-Sync 1440p monitor which should pair much better with a 1070.
