can you lower ram mhz from 2400mhz to 1866mhz ?

i was wondering if i bought adata 2x8 gb v2 2400mhz L11 if could lower the mhz to 1866mhz ?

Yes, that's normally no problem , set it manually, initially the freq to 1866 then tighten the base timings by 2 each - i.e. if base timings are 10-13-13-35 then start at 1866 with 8-11-11-33
