can you mix ram

i have 1x4gb kingstone ddr3 1600mhz stick
and i have 1 slot empty can i install hyperX 4gb 1600mhz?

You can but I encourage you not to. At best it may work, at worst your PC won't even boot. Also even if it does work you'll likely be running in mixed mode and that hampers your Ram's speed/performance. You better off buying all new ram of the same make, model and capacity.
