Right now i have my i5 2400 running on 3.5Ghz but Intel XTU says that it can go up to 3.8Ghz but is that all cores and is it safe

My specs are
Cpu:i5 2400 @ 3.5Ghz cooled by a random cooler always running at about 5000 rpm quite noisy i am getting a free h110i or h100i
Gpu:Gtx 1060 3gb
Ram:6gb ram @ 1600Mhz
Mobo:Z77 Fatal1ty Performance

the only cpu you can over clock in intels cpus generaly speaking are the cpu with a K (such as the I5-2500K)

intel states the internal turbo mode for this I5-2400 is 3.4Mhz not 3.8 and is done automatically internally and cannot be overclocked.
secondly, what motherboard do you have this 2500 mounted on, if anything but7 a Zxx series motherboard, your wasting time trying to get anything out of that system in overclocking.

well my i5 2400 is running on 3.5 Ghz overclocked so you can overclock it and it works it has quite a performance boost
the max it would be on was 3.1Ghz for some reason
but i am probably getting an i9 from my frieind and 2x 1080ti strix and an h110i so that would be better
