Hi everyone! 👋
I’m new to the PC building world and this will be my very first custom desktop, so please go easy on me if I sound like a complete beginner. I’ve been using a Dell G3 laptop for the past 4 years (from my college days), and now I finally want to upgrade to a proper gaming PC.
My use case:
I’m genuinely excited about building my first PC and would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance for helping out a newbie!
I’m new to the PC building world and this will be my very first custom desktop, so please go easy on me if I sound like a complete beginner. I’ve been using a Dell G3 laptop for the past 4 years (from my college days), and now I finally want to upgrade to a proper gaming PC.
My use case:
- Gaming (AAA titles + some competitive games)
- Streaming / binge watching
- Office work & day-to-day tasks
- Not much heavy video editing or 3D rendering
- CPU: Intel Core i9-14000K
- GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5070
- Motherboard: ASUS TUF Gaming Z790 WiFi
- RAM: 32 GB DDR5 6000 MHz (2×16 GB)
- SSD: WD Black 1 TB NVMe
- PSU: 850 W 80+ Gold
- CPU Cooler: 360 mm AIO Liquid Cooler
- Case: ATX Mid Tower
- Intel Core i9-14000KS (+$60)
- RTX 5070 Ti (+$345 over the RTX 5070)
- Is it worth stretching the budget for the i9-14000KS and/or RTX 5070 Ti?
- Or is the original build already balanced for my needs?
- Would you suggest swapping any parts for better value/performance?
- Any brands/models you personally recommend for PSU, cooler, case, or RAM?
I’m genuinely excited about building my first PC and would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance for helping out a newbie!
