Hello there, I am planning to buy a network adapter. I don't know nothing about it and i have finalized 2 products and 1 has an antenna and other one doesn't. Is both of them is used for the same purpose. I want to buy a network adapter because my MB is getting fried to much from power surge coming through the lan cable and an IT guy told me to buy one. Be aware, that connecting a LAN-cable to the LAN card will make your PC suspectable to power surges again.

Only the WLAN-solution can protect your from that

...you choose a plug-box that has power-surge-protection not only for power (you have that already, right?), but also for LAN.

My IT guy said that it will probably on fry the NIC and will not affect the MB on most cases. That's why i wanted to buy one. That one is too much price and i can't afford that now sadly.
