Can you plug in an led strip into the GTX 1080 STRIX

Solution
For something to be compatible with mobo lightning profile, it should be connected to a mobo header. And of course the controller lightning profiles should be compatible with the mobo lightning profile. Otherwise, u can connect it to a 4pin connector from psu. But u can't control it or rather left with the hardware controls that's there in it already I think. But that's possible only with some models from Thermaltake and such which doesn't have a software implementation.

Edit : just saw the link you posted. Like I said, it either connects with the mobo rgb header and gives you control via software and syncs with mobo lightning or connects via psu 4 pin and gives you hardware controls present in the controller it self. I don't think...
Do you think there is a was to add an adapter for it to work for rgb strips because my motherboard does not support asus aura sync... or if there is any way at all to plug in rgb strips with asus aura sync.

those are only fan headers there is no way to link those to the asus aura. Phantek cases have connectors for those light strips, you would ether have to mod the end of the light, have one of their cases which have a controller in them for the light, or see if phantek sells the controller for them.

like faalin said, u need a separate controller. if u still have an extra 4 pin header in ur mobo, u can use an external controller like the NZXT Hue+ to connect and control the LEDs via software. u have to check whether it can be aura synced via software, cuz Hue+ uses a separate software and for gpu lightning there is a separate software.

Those are their to control case fan speed not for RGB lighting.
They (LED's) should be plugged into the motherboard if you have a slot for it. You never listed the motherboard so not sure. If your motherboard does not have this then you bought the wrong light kit to be able to change the colors you should of bought one with the controller.
