[SOLVED] Can You Re-Seat a Motherboard to the I/O Shield Without Disconnecting Cables?

I recently noticed my I/O shield was 'pushed outwards', near the Mouse/Top USB, and VGA/DVI ports.

I looked inside my pc, and saw that the prongs which are supposed to be on top of the Port metal shields, are bent downwards/sideways in parts between the I/O Shield and Ports.

Would i be able to simply unscrew my motherboard and just re-seat it, or would i have to disconnect all cables, unscrew my motherboard, then reseat it like that? And would i have to remove my CPU Cooler/CPU if so? Or could i just get away with snipping the I/O Shield Prongs? (Last Ditch, because I'd REALLY rather not re-assemble a PC I didn't put together, particularly since there are no actual PC booting or running issues)

There aren't any visible or audible problems with my pc as it is, and none of the prongs are INSIDE any of the motherboard ports, so i figured for now i'd leave it be and make a post on here to ask. (Though i have heard a loud 'inference' sound once or twice since i noticed this issue on back),

My Motherboard is an ASUS P8Z77-V LK if that helps.

Solution
Unless I'm forgetting something its just the screws that hold the mobo to the case. At least that's how my builds have been.

Everything else that connects to it is just wires. Moving the motherboard will be limited by how far the wires will allow you to stretch them.

As far as the removing the cpu cooler and such goes that depends on how heavy the thing is. I wouldn't want to lift my motherboard with a big heavy chunky tower cooler on it

Removing the video card would probably make getting to screws easier as well and its super easy to uninstall and reinstall

Yeah, its just a stock Intel Cooler so it weighs virtually nothing, the video card on the other hand i did install myself so i can uninstall that fairly easy.

So, there shouldn't be an issues just simply leaving it all hooked up (turned off and unplugged of course) and just re seating it like that? The cables arent 'stiff' and unmoveable, some of them are much longer than needed.

Sorry for the late reply

Yeah I don't see how you could hurt anything outside of physically damaging it by doing something like dropping it or tugging a wire hard enough to bend a fan header pin or something along those lines. Really it just comes down to be gentle with it and try to grip it on the sides if possible, kind of like how you'd grip a processor. This helps reduce the risk of accidentally knocking something off with a finger like a capacitor.
