Can you reccommend an external hard drive dock?

I'm looking for a good quality, external hard drive dock without a fan or enclosure for SSD's and 3.5 inch spinners. I would like both eSATA/SATA and UASP USB 3 connections. Are some of docks built better than others or more reliable? I've used Thermaltake which has been OK generally- one of two died recently. Is there something better, but still not so expensive, that I should be looking at?

Take a look at this Mediasonic "docking station". On sale at Newegg for a rather astounding $6.99 after a $9 rebate (till 12/7).

Haven't worked with this particular unit but did work with another Mediasonic USBEHD device some time ago and encountered no problems. I note the power switch is on the side of the unit (rather than on its backside), so that's a decent feature. The reviews on this unit seem OK. Amazon carries it as well.

Now it doesn't have eSATA capability. Is this a deal-killer for you? Truth to tell eSATA is a dying technology and fewer & fewer external devices are equipped with this capability any more.

Have you perused the offerings from Newegg re USB-eSATA devices? Quite a few to choose from.

I could probably live without eSATA- I was just keeping my options open. It's what I use now, but I am about to upgrade computers. I was thinking about the Mediasonic. Not sure about the reviews though. On the other hand, I won't have much invested if it doesn't suit me (except for the time of doing all that rebate nonsense). Thanks ArtPog.
