So I recently received an nvidia gtx 1060 for christmas produced by Gigabyte and it has all digital inputs so hdmi, display port and two dvi-d ports and all my monitors are vga. Now I know active converters have been mentioned previously on here for use with this issue but no one has truly answered this question; can you run vga monitors off of an all digital card.

My currently hair brained solution is to daisy chain the monitors in using two hdmi to vga converters which will plug into the hdmi port on the card and an adapter i plan to get for the display port plug and run the video that way but I need to know if this is even POSSIBLE since the card to my knowledge does NOT have active conversion from digital to analog. ALSO I CANNOT purchase two new monitors currently I simply don't and won't have the money until next december but I do at least have enough to possibly do this solution.

So in short can you use adapters/active converters to run VGA monitors off of the gigabyte Nvidia GTX 1060 6gb graphics card?

Solution
The active adapters previously mentioned are indeed the solution to your problem. The question has truly been answered: use active vga adapters and everything will work just fine--no daisy chaining required. You can get DVI, HDMI, and/or DP to VGA active adapters for about $10 each. For two monitors, you need two of them. It doesn't matter much which outputs you use.

FYI, an active adapter takes a digital signal and converts it to an analog one. Passive adapters don't do this, they require the GPU to produce the analog signal and the adapter just switches what the connector looks like.

thanks for the response. I got this card and am going from a 610 to this so when everything kind of failed on day zero I was pretty terrified. Also if you got any specifics to recommend that'd also help
