Question can you update bios without raven ridge on b450

i got a new b450 motherboard along with a ryzen 7 1800x but my bios has never been updated i recently checked the bios to see that my cpu was on 70 idle but ryzen master says 45 so i was wondering if there was any way to update the bios without a apu

Honestly, I am not that familiar the Ryzen 7 1800x because I have never owned one.
But from they little bit of Googling I did it seems that they do tend to run hot.
And since you are using the stock cooler it may not get any better unless you get a better cooler.

And apparently even with a better cooler they may not get much better:
