Question Cannot boot into BIOS since W10 update

This is something that is widespread apparently. It seems Microsoft has decided I shouldn't be able to access my BIOS anymore.
MSI Z690 mobo. Anyone know how to get around this? Even better question, how did MS determine that they have the right to block access to the BIOS?

Try and clear the CMOS, disconnecting from the wall and display, removing the battery from the motherboard, then pressing and holding down the power button for 30 secs, then replace the battery after 30 mins.

MSI have a number of Z690 chipset boards, which one do you have?

Under advanced startup, click restart
this restarts windows in a blue menu
choose troubleshoot
choose advanced
choose UEFI FIrmware interface

PC should restart in the BIOS

Yes, I did try that--a few times. It reboots to a black screen, the same thing that happens when I press delete repeatedly while booting: it boots into a black screen.

Try disconnecting the boot drive then going in the BIOS and make sure fast boot is disable reconnect Boot drive see if that has resolved the issue?

If its still doing with Boot drive disconnected reset the bios while Boot drive is disconnect go in bios make sure Fast boot is disabled save and exit

All else fails, reset the UEFI settings. This can be accomplished by either (Note: make sure the computer is unplugged from power first):

• Taking out the coin cell battery for a minute. You can speed this up by shorting the terminal
• Find a "CMOS Clear" or similar jumper on the motherboard and shorting it for a few seconds

Currently the only way for me to get into bios is to remove my 1070ti from the computer, move my display port cable over to the IGPU port and then do normal methods to get into the bios. My 1070Ti did not have this problem with my retired 4790k build.

Just the final word from me on it, and then I simply give up.
My mobo is MSI z690-A DDR4, which will accommodate 4 M.2 drives, all of which are filled. I took out the drive with the OS and it booted into BIOS. Took them all out and it booted into BIOS. Put the OS drive in a different slot--wouldn't boot into BIOS no matter what. So I took it out again, made all the setting changes I wanted to in the BIOS, put them all back, and as before it will not boot into BIOS.
Too freaking weird...
Thank you for your attempts to help. This has worn me out and I want no more to do with it, at least for now.

Do you have the latest bios?

most modern boards let you flash them without going into bios. From what I saw looking at MSI Z690, a few were fixed updating it. If I knew what model it was, I could see if you can flash it that way.
