Cannot change IP

Ok so this is the problem. Recently ive been playing on steam and one day i came home to some network issues where it said i had tried to log in too many times on the network so i had to wait, odd thing is ive never logged in since all my devices uses remember password. Anyway ive waited and waited and the mean time used a free vpn while i waited for the steam support replied to me. the free vpn became un reliable and a mess and really annoying so i decided to find ways on how to change my IP. I called up my ISP and they said i would basicly need to turn off my modem till it forgot its IP. So i did tht for an hour by turning off my router and my modem (Router Asus RT-AC87U) and came back on with the same IP. I have no where else to turn to and now im looking for some help from you guys. Do you guys know how to change my IP without use of proxies or VPNs?

Ive talked to the ISP and she said there is a way to change IPs, and what about the ipconfig/reselease > renew thing?

It not the modem forgot the ip, is your ISP might be assign you a new ip if your modem not connect to them for a long while.
Who is this she? might be you should contact the isp tech support and not customer support.

This she is the person i contacted at the ISP and that is who explained me what to do. There is no manual way to change ur IP through the ISP she told me exactly that. She explained how i would need to turn off my modem and router till "it forgot my IP" in which it would assign me a new one. Its not a account lockout i can use a VPN. Please read my post before saying such things please.

I would like a different way to change it as i cannot control the chances of it changing. I still cant change it

I would like a different way to change it as i cannot control the chances of it changing. I still cant change it

read my lips. there is no way for you to change it.
maybe a new modem might.

steam still blocking your ip address for login in? it didn't said for how long?

The easiest way to check would be to connect 1 PC directly to the modem and reboot the modem. If the IP is different, then it will be when spoofing the MAC on the router.
