Cannot Enter into Windows Xp

Hello,
I have a Dell Optiplex 7170
Ram - 4GB
Processor - I3

I have Windows XP 32bit installed in it.The pc does not enter the Windwos when the SATA configuration in BIOS is set to AHCI (DEFAULT).

If i change the SATA configuration to ATA it will enter into Windows and work properly but if i shutdown and turn it on again the config changes to AHCI and doesn't enter into Windows.

because it was formatted (HDD) when ATA mode was enabled , changing to ACHI and wanting to keep t would mean you have to reformat./install windows

how old this pc?
the cmos battery might need replacement.

I cant reinstall the Windows by setting it to AHCI.
I have to change it to ATA and then only the windows setup will continue .
