Cannot get cursor to operate

While I can get a cursor on the screen with a wireless logitech mouse, I cannot get the cursor in the computer to function. Arrow on screen will not budge.
Help!

Do you have the dongle plugged into a USB port on the computer, batteries in the mouse?

I got it to work by pressing FN with F7 key and all is well now! Thanks anyway...
