About a month ago I wanted to reinstall my Windows 10 but after installing or during Windows 10 installation I got all kinds of BSODs. I couldn't find the problem so took my PC to a local computer fixing shop.

After a few days they said that they can install Windows 11 or try and find the solution which is probably wrong chipset drivers that got installed with automatic Windows 10 updates. so I chose to install Windows 11, but I don't like them anymore and I want to go back to Windows 10.

How can I make sure my chipset drivers are compatible with installation and I won't get BSODs when installing it ? My specs are:

MSI B450-A Pro
Ryzen 5 3600
GTX 1070

did you get the latest windows 10 installation media from MS website?
Yes, i tried changing to uefi, tried almost everything, ran ram tests and other stuff also, in pc repair shop they said the way to install windows 10 is going to safe mode and deleting or downloading older chipset drivers, do you think they are right?

Going from an existing install of Win 11 to an install of Win 10 is a full wipe.
Delete everything.

There are no chipset drivers left over.

What else could be the problem then? Because win 11 installed with no problems, but while installing win 10 i get bsod's. Also i've been having another problem when I turn on my pc, after 15min of not doing anything big like listening to music, just chilling in social media I get random bsod's, but if I'm playing something my pc is fine, maybe it has to do something with this?

How are you installing this WIn 10?

Delete ALL existing partitions and continuing with a blank drive?

Now I'm not doing anything, but when i tried, i tried everyway, i think I tried like 15 times 😀, but yea I tried with a blank drive, I tried creating more partitions and everything. And actually when I think about it, installing windows 10 takes about 15minutes and I got all kinds of bsod's, and it happens now too after 15 minutes of not using ram or cpu I get random bsod unless I turn any game on, maybe my ram is dying or something?

if i had this in front of me, my next try then would be an older windows 10 version installer. again trying to rule out some new update/feature that could be causing problems.

you can use this tool to download older iso's.

i'd go back a couple versions and try that out. again disconnect from web completely and see what happens as it installs.

if win 11 installs and runs fine, that pretty much rules out hardware problems and points at something with win 10 itself as most likely source of issue.

possibly usb drive causing problems so trying a different one for install media is not a bad idea either. different usb port than you have been using would not hurt either.

edit: note that this downloader gets iso's from download.microsoft.com so they are legit and trouble free. the tool just gets around normal ms roadblocks hiding some of the downloads.

And win 11 doesn't run fine I get random bsod's if I don't play anything, but if i chill in social media, or listening to music I get bsod after about 15-25mins

What are your full system specifications? Include brands, models, capacities, etc. If you have multiple sticks of RAM, did you purchase a single kit or multiple kits?

Try running memtest86 on each of your ram sticks, one stick at a time, up to 4 passes. Only error count you want is 0, any higher could be cause of the BSOD. Remove/replace ram sticks with errors. Memtest is created as a bootable USB so that you don’t need windows to run it

generally if you get bsod during or after an install it can be ram. That would be first place I looked. Chipset drivers shouldn't cause bsod.
