Hi there ! So I used to play this game on PC , i think it was a PC exclusive anyway. So I remember playing it around 2009 and I think it is its realease date as well. So the game is a shooter where a team went in some ancient place like egypt or something and battlleing demons . I need to say , if it help , that it was pretty gorry. It is not doom !! Well, I know RE5 took place in Afrika, which you may have mistaken for Egypt since you didn't seem sure, and it's a sort of horror/shooter with demon-like creatures. It also came out in 2009. Not sure if you're positive about it being a 2009 game, but I looked at all 2009 PC shooters and that was the only one that remotely fit the description.
