So I'm really confused.

I recently added a new stick of RAM (8g) to my existing 8g on my Asus z170a mbo. After trying to restart my PC I get stuck at several different screens at random. Sometimes I get a frozen preparing to recover screen, other times a Windows BSoD with a message.

Long story short, I can't boot into Windows or get passed the Asus/UEFI anymore. In boot options safe mode doesn't exist, nor does advanced startup, recovery etc.
I've tried to force a boot into a Windows USB disc and that doesn't work either. I also can't find safe mode to even boot to it. Really stuck here and world greatly appreciate any advice. My build is new and I'm deep into it financially so it really sucks not being able to use it.

Solution
Memory manufacturers guarantee the rated speeds of any memory to be obtainable only in the kit it is sold in. If you are adding an additional set of memory, the memory may not work at all or may be unable to operate at rated specifications. No guarantees are made as to how such combinations will perform.

You may need to relax the timings and/or frequencies in order to get two sets of memory to work. Another option you may need to do is increase the dram voltages or reducing the CPU multiplier.
