Question Do i need new psu?

Do i need to buy new psu, it doesnt have gpu pins,the graphics card i want is GTX 1080

Ram: 8GB RAM
SSD/HDD: 120GB SSD, 1TB HDD

include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

if it doesn't have dedicated gpu cables its not even a true 550w psu most likely 300w really.

i would replace it.

i'm from romania, prebuilts here are trash but my mom buyed it for me and she didn't knew, paid like 800 dollars

I used to run a 1080 with a Corsair CX650M. Worked wonderfully well. This PSU is almost 10 years old and still runs flawlessly in my Linux desktop.

And yes, a PSU without 8-pin PCIe cables should definitely be replaced.

Chances are a 550w without Pcie connectors is not 550w at all, and probably very poor quality. However, if the power supply does not have the Pcie connector needed it needs replaced full stop, regardless of what unit it is.

Thankfully the GTX 1080 is not as power demanding as a lot of modern cards, and the rest of your system is not that high power consumption either.

Let me know if there are better retailers to look through but here are a couple recommendations
