I recently ran into problems on a Windows 8 machine that prompted me to have to perform a factory restore. Prior to doing the restore I pulled the hard drive from the machine and placed it into a Windows 7 64-bit machine and copied the contents of the Users directory using Unstoppable copy. After copying the files I performed the factory restore, updated Windows and installed drivers, apps etc. I then took the drive out and used Unstoppable copy to move the backed up files back onto the Windows 8 drive to C:/Users/{myprofilename}/Desktop/Backup.
This is where I need help. I booted the Windows 8 machine back up and it doesn't show the directory I created nor the files that were copied back onto the drive. I can take the hard drive out and put it into any other Windows 7 machine I have and navigated through the restored files but When I boot into Windows 8 it's as if I never copied the files back onto the drive.
Any help would be greatly appreciated cause I'm completely lost on this one.
