I am trying to reinstall a Windows 7 OS onto a laptop that won't take it. It originally had 7 on it and was running just fine. Reinstalled the OS because of corruption problems- but I am running into a lot of issues when trying to reinstall 7.
My first issue was that during the setup process using an installation CD- the computer would blue screen with the error code 0x0000007E and then shut down. This kept on repeating and I was never successfully able to boot into 7 period.
■ I ran the WD Data Lifeguard Tool on the HDD on another computer and it passed the SMART, short, and long tests with flying colors. I then wrote zeroes to the drive and tried reinstalling Windows 7 again. I no longer am getting a blue screen error but instead, another error message that says the following:
"The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation." This message keeps repeating itself every time the computer restarts now unless I boot from CD- but it leads up to the same errors.

The final thing I did was run MRI on the computer and after 8 hours of testing, MRI came back saying that the computer passed all tests. I have yet to run UBCD or other known hardware tests on the laptop. It
Ran mini XP mode on the laptop in Hirens and it ran fine with no problems. Having a really hard time determining what is causing this issue. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
- Yes, I did try another CD of Windows 7 and will also try installing 7 using a flash drive next to see if that somehow fixes my problem.

Question from Crypto6 : "Cannot Successfully Re-install Windows- Error Codes Recieved"

Firstly, I did make a post before about this but nobody replied back and I have since, also had an update on what I have tried to do to fix this situation, so if anyone has ANY ideas on what else I could try next, the help would be much appreciated.

- Yes, I did try another CD of Windows 7, I've tried a rip and an original OEM CD of 7- both Pro and Home Premium. I have also tried installing 7 using a bootable flash drive but no luck. The only thing I have no tried in regards to the OS is install a 32-bit version of Windows over 64, however- the PC originally had 64 bit installed and 6GB of memory is in the computer, so that is not an option.
- I used another brand new hard drive on the computer and have the same exact issues described as above. Both the old and new HDD I have tried this on was formatted and any partitions if found- were deleted.

I am stumped and I can't find anything I am running into online either. I am sure anyone reading this might be as stumped as me- but I'm willing to take any ideas anyone has, no matter how ridiculous it might sound.

even with passing the tests i would see if you can get another HDD to try in the laptop since your first reason you reinstalled everything was because it was corrupted
