Hi-

I have a client with an ImageRunner 2020. Her router was replaced, and now printing doesn't work. She says that a man from the Canon dealer was there for four hours, had it working for a bit, but that it doesn't work now on two of her three PCs (XP Desktop, Win. 7 Laptop on wireless network don't work, but Win. 7 desktop wired does). She got the impression that he was having issues, because he couldn't log in to the router. I'm more used to Kyocera than Canon, but I'm assuming that it's an IP address issue? Any thoughts? No pressure- I have until tomorrow morning to think ;-)

Thanks for Your Help!

go onto canons website and look for the printers configuration software, you should be able to connect to it and change its ip that way.

a change of router can cause problems especially if the new router uses a different ip range by default.
sounds like an ip issue, you want to find out that the ip range of the routers network is and make sure the ip on the printer is out of the range and has a manually configured ip, also to configure it plug directly into it using usb to set it up.

if it is connected using wireless make sure it is connecting to the routers SSID and not broadcasting its own like some do.

That seems to make sense to me. She had a new router installed for an external hard drive (useing the router's USB). She had a Netgear, and now has a Belkin. Does that make any difference?

I know that it is plugged in via a CAT 5 cable (going through her ceiling- those are always fun!) Could it be broadcasting by itself, trying to "beam" wirelessly to the router?

Also, I can't seem to find a Canon service book for this model. There's a way to configure the IP from a direct USB connection, from my laptop? She couldn't find the "Additional Functions" button on the machine. If you have any clue on how to do this from USB (or from the control panel), that would be the cat's meow!
