I've stretched a bit and made an attempt to alter an existing sim's skin tone
with SimPE. I have the latest official patch and University, so I've made 3
backups of everything...
Problem is, the change will not take. The procedure I am following is:
Start SimPE
Start the Neighborhood Browser plugin
Pick Pleasantview, where my Sim resides
Start the Sim Surgery plugin
Select the patient sim, the one whose skin tone I want to alter, and press Use
Select the archetype sim, a specially created sim who possesses the skin tone I
want, and who was added to the family bin in Pleasantview, and press Use
check "only Skintone"
press Surgery
press Commit
select Save from the File menu
And then I start up Sims Uni... but my sim does not have the new skin tone.
I've seen suggestions elsewhere that I should use a mirror to change
appearance, alter the body type by making the sim get fat and save/reload the
neighborhood, but nothing helps. I can change the sim's face easily by
checking "only Face" in Sim Surgery, but the skin tone stays the same whatever
I do.
