Hello. Recently I've got my cousin's PC with Gigabyte H55M-S2, i3 540, 2x4GB RAM Patriot DDR3 1600MHz and HDD 1TB Seagate. And there is a problem: it runs ONLY Win XP 32BIT. If i try to install Win Vista/7/8/10 32/64bit, it hangs on windows flag. Even if I connect this hdd to my main pc and install windows, then connect to the second one, it still hangs on ,,Starting Windows''. Even win xp 64bit doesn't start. I've got to run Win 7 PE 32bit, and it works... but 8/10PE not. On Win 10PE after somewhile it shows bluescreen: Error_kernel_security_check_failed. I've resetted bios, updated it, resetted CMOS, changed RAM and PSU, but nothing. 2 years ago I was owner of this MOBO, and i've got 7/8/10 32/64bit and it worked perfect.

Plug the harddrive into his computer and install the OS, you cant load the OS on another computer and then put that drive in his computer, it will not work as you see.

Windows 10 does this a lot better but the older OS's have big issues with this.

My friend had the same exact issue. He placed the motherboard onto the case without the copper standoffs and shorted out his board. You might have a grounding issue (metal touching metal) somewhere in the build. It sounds like a motherboard issue and you should open a case the vendor and start the rma process. You could also breadboard your build and test by connecting internal components one at a time to see if the issue persists.
