My computer was shut off when the lightning storm occurred last week. Now, when i want to turn it on by pressing the power button, the computer wont turn on. However, when i hold the power button for few seconds and then, immediately press the power button a few times, the computer will turn on but only for few seconds.

I had done breadboarding but still cant power up the cpu when i touched the power pins on the mobo with the screwdriver. I also checked the psu with paper clip test and with a power supply tester to test the psu and the psu works fine.

Could this be motherboard problem or cpu or bad psu?

Mobo : Asrock H87 perf
CPU : core i5
ram : 4gb x2
PSU: rosewill 650M

Do again the Breadboarding test, but this time start with only mobo + PSU, if the mobo is OK you should get a beep code indicating CPU failure/not installed (make sure your Speaker is properly connected). If successful add the CPU and test again, you should get a RAM error code, this way you'll find out which of the three is damaged, if mobo alone doesn't beep at all then your mobo is the one damaged.

I don't want to interfere,. just to mention that the board does not beep without CPU installed.. BIOS simply does not work without a CPU, therefore no beeps.
