Hello, I have bought an ssd (Samsung 860 evo) and I have installed Windows on it but every time I try to boot from it I get the reboot and select proper boot device message.
My motherboard: Gigabyte 970a ud3

Things I have tried:
- made sure sata config is AHCI
- tried to set boot option to only uefi but with that after the windows installation I don't even have the option to boot into my ssd
- tried playing around with diskpart to set the partition active but couldn't because it it GPT, and if I convert to MBR it goes back to GPT after the windows installation
- downloaded the AHCI drivers from gigabytes website and installed it right before the windows installation
- checked BIOS, it is the newest there is
- disconnected all other sata devices (except the DVDrom) and switched to the sata port where my HDD used to be

Update: Insalled windows on the hdd and works fine but at the boot option it has Windows Boot manager and when I install Windows on the ssd i don't have this option.

And now I can't really think of anything else. I have searched everywhere, tried everything but nothing works and I'm starting to get a little anxious.

Seems you a few drives, remove everything but the SSD, put that on the lowest SATA port, should be port 0. Set BIOS back to defaults. Start the Win10 setup, go to advanced disk options, delete all existing partitions on the SSD, then go through the setup again see if that works.

Thanks for the replies, I tried with only the ssd connected but got the same results. I managed to install it in the meantime by using a DVD to boot from instead of a pendrive. I still don't know what caused the problem because windows installs to the HDD from pendrive perfectly. Oh and I tried everything you wrote down. When I installed from pendrive on the ssd I had an option to boot from Samsung ssd and it didn't work as you know, I didn't have the option to boot from windows boot manager as with the HDD. When I installed from DVD I had an option to boot from UEFI Samsung SSD and it worked. I'm no expert but I'd be glad if someone could explain it to me so next time I'll know it.
