Can't change CPU ratio

Hello there forumers, I come to you today because I can't even access core ratio. Somehow I overclocked my CPU to 4.5 ghz and it's fluctuating at 45-50C temps, haven't really tested it under load because I'm trying to figure this out.

I have an i5 6700k CPU, 1060 msi gpu, and a A270 motherboard gaming m3, really all the basics you need to know.

I tried hovering over the CPU ratio in order to adjust it but it's greyed out along with other options. I was wondering if I should upgrade the bios since I just got it out the box. I installed all the drivers and what not, was just wondering if my bios is old, maybe that's why I can't adjust the ratio.

Why bother if you can adjust the bclk it actually gives you more adjustability than the multiplier. If you had a haswell or older system you'd have an issue as you could only get a 102/103 Bclk to run properly, fortunately you don't have that worry.

i7 6700K or i5 7600K? Also do you mean Z270 chipset on your motherboard? I recommend you to OC with offset voltage so the CPU voltage can drop when not needed. A guide for Skylake (similar for Kaby Lake)

P.S. On my i7 6700K OC to 4.6ghz I use +90mv offset voltage which leaves me at 1.330-1.344v max under full load under certain benchmarks. But every chip is different and Kaby Lake will generally give you a slightly higher OC at the same voltage.

I have an i5 7600k, and an msi z270 chipset my bad.
The thing is I don't know how I got 4.5ghz, hats what infuriates me the most lol. I brought up the ram to 3000 and I got up to 4.6. Maybe it's because I put on game booster. Now I see the CPU ratio is locked grey. All my voltage is greyed out too.
Guess I need to look at the voltage like you said, but even that is greyed out. I will show a pic, and I just built this yesterday so I'm trying to get everything figured out. I'm not home atm do I can't mess with the voltage, and I find it strange that in msi vids show CPU ration not greyed out but mine is.

Btw what are your temps compuser?

From what I can tell what I can tell from that image you used the Auto Overclocking utility in your motherboard. Not exactly Ideal as it tends to raise the voltage higher than necessary. What is your vcore under full load (use Aida64 to stress test)? I guess your voltage s now set to 1.304v (from the image). Check this out (even if it is not the same mobo):

What cpu cooler are you using?

Regarding my 6700K temps (I'll list cpu package temps since they are a bit higher than core temps): 29C at idle (cores around 26C), 50C-light load, 55-60C gaming, 74C max temp under stress testing (30 minutes). I use a bequiet Dark Rock Pro 3 CPU cooler + 2x140mm intake fans + 1x140mm exhaust + 1x120mm exhaust.

I guess I'll have to check that out when I get home. I'll see if I can lower the voltage somehow. I can't even see the pictures from that site on my phone which sucks.

I have an 212 evo fan, and led fan in the front and another fan in the back. The other two fans came with the case. I was running my pc all day yesterday though, and only checked the temps after everything. I'll check again later and put it under stress. It fluctuates a lot tho, it would go as low as 30 sometimes and up to 70 randomly and that's the CPU. 40 I would say is average. Still can't do anything rn. I know my cable management sucks tho, and evga cables are thick as hell.
