Can't connect the SLI problem.

Hello, my specs are
Gigabyte GTX570 1280MB GDDR5 Ultra Durable.

and Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 motherboard.

i've just bought a new video card, exacly the same, connected it below the older one and connected them both with an SLI bridge.

(the fans are working on both video cards).
i've downloaded the latest GeForce and NVIDIA updates.


but the problem is, that when i go to geforce control panel, i don't see any SLI options like people have on youtube, so i think that somethin is wrong. please help me good people.

What does the PhysX/SLI/Surround tab of your Nvidia control panel look like? Try using both cards independently. If both work, try using only one card in the second slot. That way we can rule out the possibility of a faulty GPU or PCI-E slot. Also, what is the exact model of your PSU?

and i didn't understand what you said about using both cards independently.

Both of their fans are working fine. but it seems like its not showing up on the panel.

Take out the second card, and only use the first card. If the first card works, remove it and put in the second card. If the second card works, you can be 100% sure that both of the cards work as they should.

When you know that both of the cards are working, remove the GPU from the first PCI-E slot on the motherboard, and only leave in the GPU that's in the second slot. Then connect your monitor to the card in the second PCI-E slot and turn on the PC. If it works, you can be 100% sure that both of the PCI-E slots are working.

i lied. i didn't buy a new card now, i bought them both exactly 3 years ago, (i just didn't want to be retarded because i just saw the problem now and not 3 years ago).

So basically i did what you said.

1.Remove bottom card (1 card only): PC failed to boot.
2.Remove upper card (1 card only): PC failed to boot.
3.Put upper card on button spot (1 card only): PC failed to boot.
4.Put lower card on upper spot (1card only): PC failed to boot.
5.Nearly cried.
6.Put lower card on upper spot and upper card on lower spit (just changed them). PC WORKS.
still no SLI.

When i bought the PC, The shop overclocked both of the cards, maybe because of that it didn't work like that?

The PC wouldn't happen to be under warranty by any chance, would it?
Try Removing all of Nvidia's drivers with this: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
Then try the different card/slot combinations again and see if it works.

No, nothing is under warranty anymore.

I tried to put the Monitor (Display) Cable into to the lower video card, and it didn't display anything on the screen,
but when i put it in the upper card, it did work. Then i changed the cards in their places like it was before, and again, the screen only worked when connected to the upper card.

What if you completely remove the upper card and then connect the monitor to the lower card?
It seems that the cards are working since you managed to get image out of both of them.

I already tried to connect the vga to the bottom one(both of the cards by turn), it didnt work at all.
Even when 2 cards are connected with sli, the lower wont show on the screen when connected with vga.

Also i managed to turn the pc on with only 1 card, on top (both of the cards)

Well while you're doing SLI the bottom card isn't supposed to show anything, but the fact that you're not able to get it to work even with one card in the second slot and nothing in the first slot makes me think that the second PCI-E slot on your motherboard might be faulty.

If you have any other PCI-E cards, you can try using them in the secondary slot. A PCI-E sound card or network card would do. I'm fairly confident that it's the slot since you already tested it with a GPU.

well, i don't have any of those.

Do you thing that if i bought a new motherboard it will fix the problems? its strange because the PC is only 3 years old, its not so much.

Yes, it might fix it, although it's hard to say for sure if you can't test anything in it. Maybe you could take it to the PC shop you bought it from and have them test some cards in it?

My dad told me i should update my motherboard drivers. I installed drivers of 2010.
Do you think it will work?

well, i updated the bios, the video card drivers, the motherboard drivers, but still nothing.
i guess i will take the pc in a few days to the tech guys, im 90% sure that the bottom video card entrance is retarded.
