Hey all, so I got a MSI H110M gaming motherboard and i've downloaded the Intel Network driver, yet I still can't connect to the ethernet. Any ideas?

Solution
in device manager

look in ethernet device properties for a power management section

if the turn off this device to save power box is ticked untick it

might need to restart pc to make it take effect

You've connected the Cat5e cable from the PC to the router?
If so, are you 100% sure its a good cable?

First , what operating system are you using ?
second look in hardware manager under the + network adaptors is the Ethernet card indicated with a yellow or red triangle on it ?
Thirdly, when you have a cable connected tot the Ethernet, making sure you pull it out and plug it back in again (until it clicks in place) do the lights on each side of the connector light up ? which one on left and right side of adaptor and colour please.

The cable and router are fine. Just tested it on a laptop, which worked all good.

I'm using windows 10x64. All networking devices don't have a yellow sign next to them. Only 3 PCI data acquisition... and 2 unknown devices. And when I connect it, the pc port has 1 green and 1 orange light. While the router is also green.

Actually, i'll have a look at the bios. Didn't think I gad to enable it there

I can't seem to find Ethernet in the device manager...or anything to do with networking doe that matter.

Yes, that matters. It seems the drivers are not actually installed or working properly. What unknown devices do you have showing?

3 "PCI Data acquisition and signal processing controller" and 2 Unknown devices.

yes that will be why you have no connection

did you install all the motherboard drivers?

Pretty sure I did. Could have sworn I saw some networking tab a bit earlier though...

So you think I might have installed something wrong?

possibly missed a driver or a driver didnt install correctly

do you also have wifi available on the pc?

if so could try updating stuff over wifi

I didn't get a wifi adapter, since I thought i'd be having less issues with the Ethernet. 🙁
