I recently just format my PC because it is very slow and virus-infected.
It is a quite old PC so I don;t have the driver CD with me.
i can get it work but now I can;t seem to connect to my modem at all (I used to be able to do it before formatting my PC, so the problem is not my modem).
This is the information I got from speccy.

I am not tech savvy so if possible explain it like you would explain to your mom 😛

I tried to go to NEC website but I can't find the correct driver.
If anyone kind enough to help me, it will be appreciated.

yes i believe it is pre-built. (if you meant I bought it as one whole unit without picking the component one by one).
this it the label that i can find at my PC:

Thanks for trying to help, I am at lost here. There is no work that can be done without my internet connection T_T

ok i will give this one a try cause I use XP for this PC.

Device Name:
Broadcom NetLink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet Drivers

Driver Version:
14.2.0.5
Driver's Date:
20 May 2010
Compatible OS:
XP
File Size:
39.12 Mb

Will get back to you with the result :) thank you predi, you are a tech angel ^^

update: I installed it, it said successfully installed Broadcom NetLink Gigabit Netlink Controller and still nothing. My ethernet controller still has no driver.
probably I chose the wrong version from the list you gave me?

for more accurate I tried searching driver for PCI\VEN_14e4&DEV_1693 (which is my ethernet device ID, should post this earlier...my bad)
but the result is so many I am confused which one to download.

Is it possible that my windows XP that has the problem? I use the same XP CD for other PC before but this never occur because I had my motherboard's CD driver for that one.
