I have a pc I built but it won't connect to the internet. I have an Asus Z170-a motherboard, and I'm not trying to use an usb or card you stick in for wifi. Im currently trying to use a Trend Net PowerLine AV 500 for ethernet. I have 1 box in a socket with the ethernet connected to my routher. The other box behind my computer and the ethernet plug into the mobo. No matter what I do it won't connect. I have never had wifi on this computer btw.

First thing you need to check is if that powerline connection is working at all. Do any computer work on it? If not, go over the setup of the devices, maybe contact their support. If another system works on the connection, did you install the drivers for the motherboard after you build the computer? Is the network card showing in Device Manager?
