Cant connect to the internet with any type of connection HELP!!!!!! Windows Vista

My Windows Vista computer cant connect to the internet. I have tried wired connections and usb tethering from an android phone and still nothing. My computer is a Windows Vista Home Basic x32-Bit service pack 2. The computer used to connect to the internet but now it wont. CAN ANYONE HELP? If you need more info then i will provide it.

Just so you know i am using another computer so dont say "Then how are you making this thread".

Ive had something very very similar happer on a number of pc's suddenly & it was windows defaulting the connection to use a proxy server
Its worth a quick check mate
control panel/netowrk & internet/internet options
connections tab/lan settings
ensure the proxy server box is unticked

hey i give up i will just factory reset, if that dosent work, back to collecting dust it will go.
