CORSAIR 6500D AIRFLOW Mid-Tower ATX Mid Tower

CORSAIR RM1200x Shift 1200W 80+ Gold PCI 5.0 ATX 3.0 PSU

CORSAIR iCUE LINK TITAN 360 RX RGB AIO 360mm Cooling

M2 SSD and RTX5090 (Exact models are not decided)

So here is the setup I plan to buy in 3 days. What I cant decide is the ram's here are my questions and please feel free to judge them if they are wrong also please do comment on other parts if you see a need?

  1. I should not go over 6000MHZ not to cause stability issues.
  2. I should stick with EXPO ram just to be safe.
  3. Going for CL28 is better than CL30 or CL32

What apps and games will be installed?

Do you plan to overclock?

Start by reading the motherboard's User Guide/Manual at MSI's website. (Be careful about online manual websites. Just because MSI appears in the URL does not mean that the website is MSI.)

The Guide should list supported RAM and RAM configurations.

Likely there wil be a QVL (Qualified Vendors List) provided and likely some note about going online for more up-to-date information.

Read all fine print carefully and look closely at any diagrams regarding RAM installation. Some motherboards require that the first physically installed RAM be placed in a specific slot - typically DIMM_A2.

Pay close attention to BIOS settings as well.

I should not go over 6000MHZ not to cause stability issues.
You should be OK at 6000MT/s with 2 DIMMs fitted, but if you decide to fit 4 DIMMs for increased capacity, e.g. 128Gb insytead of 64GB, you'll probably have to reduce the memory speed down close to 4800MT/s or even slower.

If you envisage ever fitting 4 DIMMs, buy a single set of 4 matched DIMMs at the outset, not two pairs of 2 DIMMs, which could come from different batches and hence pairs may have subtly different timings.

I should stick with EXPO ram just to be safe.
It's a good idea to look for QVL EXPO certified memory, but both of my recent AMD CPUs are running fine with XMP-only DDR4 and DDR5 RAM.

Going for CL28 is better than CL30 or CL32
Faster CL28 timings will probably improve FPS scores in games, but other apps (video rendering) might not benefit much and you could save money buying slower CL32 RAM.
