so i just bough a ssd . i downloaded ease us todo backup and when i cliked clone my hdd was thr but my ssd is not thr even the target destination also ssd not thr. but when i clik bios and check my ssd is in the bios and i tried booting up from the ssd but got error on disk. so how do i make my ssd appear on the cloning list?i tried 3 other software alr its the same still dont appear on cloning list.

ok just formatted it but do I clone the whole disk or just the C:? thr is system reserved:, PQService8*: and D: . The ssd has F: and other*: . how did the other came I only remembered making the F: . also i dint know wat to choose so i just choose GPT for the ssd. thr was 2 other option MBR and Dynamic. ah btw clone is the same as copy rite? than why waste time download software to clone? why don't copy paste?

the PQService8 is probably a recovery partition to factory reset it D is probably just for storing data in--but cant guarantee that

assuming the ssd is big enough i would clone the whole thing you can always delete unneeded partitions afterwards

no you wouldnt need to keep the hdd connected as the boot record gets copied cloning

cloning is because you cant copy and paste all the files necessary while using the windows

its not enouf for all i counted 120gb altg taken(added sys reserve ,PQSERVICE,C: and D: . ). the size on my sdd is only 110 gb . so which do i shift? if i dont shift PQSERVICE means its impossible to factory reset? what is the system reserved for anyway?

sry i saw wrong it was mb instead of gb for the sys reserved. all can fit in but do i clone from disk 0 to disk 1 or disk 0 to the F:? F was the one i created than it auto created other*: also

my D: has random words and numbers don't know wats that this are the word.

they are all files but dint write wat type of file
thr is also an option "optimize for ssd". shuld I clik that?

assuming you only have the 2 hard drives it should be from disk 0 to disk 1--disk 1 should be F in that case

need to make sure you get the drives the right way round as not sure what would happen if they were reversed --it might clone the blank drive to the full one--never tried cloning a blank drive so dont know if it would wipe a full drive or not

usually its safe to delete stuff on D--but have seen cases where stuff to do with the factory reset was also stored on D which seems strange way of doing it to me as it should be hidden from the user

i see i will not clone D: than. how about the optimize for ssd checkbox? do i nid to clik it?

it has the option called "sector by sectore clone". but if move from disk 0 only can move to disk 1. cannot choose which wan i wan to clone. dont know wat the sector by sector clone mean but even when i cliked it still same.

it allows me to resize. wat shuld i resize to? system reserve used size is 40.41mb. PQService is 14.41gb, B: is149.04mb, Acer A: is 45.31 gb. means A: is the main one. ill post a ss soon

dont use sector by sector it will take a very long time

if it doesnt have the option to select to clone or remove partitions i would suggest using macrium reflect free version

that definitely allows it i am using it on mine--it can even be used to make your own recovery partition with your image in it with a bit of work

ok just dl it. weird thing is D: uses 149mb but it only has 4 files 0kb each
