Hi everyone! So about 3 days ago I saw that file name extensions has been turned on by it self somehow. (For those who don't know file name extensions is when it says ".exe", ".txt" after the name of a file.) I was gonna turn it of but when I did it just blinked on the desktop like I pressed F5 and it keept being on.

I guess it might just be bug that will get fixed with an update but I wanna make sure to see if I can fix it as of right now.

Solution
Hi,

Please do try these following troubleshooting steps that may help in solving the issue.
- Start by doing a complete virus/malware cleanup.
- Here's a link for guide and tools you can use.

- Once done with the clean up reboot your laptop and see if the same problem will persist.
- If not make sure to hide the extensions again and see if it will solve the problem.
- If all these will not work I would suggest running System Restore, restore it back to an earlier date or time before the problem even happened.
