Hi,

I have a Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R with an Intel Corei7 980X Extreme. I can't seem to enter into the MIT (Motherboard Intelligent Tweaker) in the BIOS to start overclocking. It just freezes when I enter that menu. I can enter other BIOS menus but not this one. I can't seem to overclock from within the BIOS due to this. BIOS version is FA which is the only version available and the motherboard was shipped with. Any idea?

1-Reset CMOS.
2-Update the bios to the latest version
3-Download Memtest USB installer and check your memory
4-Uninstall the cpu and inspect the socket for any bent pin(s)
5-If all fails, RMA the board !

Thanks for your reply...

I managed to find out what the problem was. I was using a USB keyboard and I was only able to go into some of the Menus. I tried using a PS/2 type keyboard and it worked fine. The USB keyboard was not able to go into some menus and would freeze the PC when used, even though I had enabled USB keyboard in BIOS.

Thanks for helping. Incase this happens to anybody else try a PS/2 type keyboard and not a USB type.

Cheers,
Prabodha
