So I recently had to replace a few parts and that ended up being the motherboard so now I don't have an OS. I bought a Windows 10 Pro USB but I can't seem to figure out how to boot to it. Below is the photo of the drive and the specs of my system.
Specs:
Ryzen 5 5600X
Radeon 6650XT
32G G.SKILL 3000Mhz
Samsung 980 EVO 1TB
Samsung 870 EVO 500GB
WD 500GB
Seagate 2TB HDD

Well, it may be faulty.

You do realize that the ONLY thing you pay for is the license, right?
You can create your own USB install thing for free, direct from Microsoft (Assuming a different working PC).
I got the liscense with the drive. And I guess I could make one on my laptop but I assumed it would work. The box seemed official but idk

And the cost?
Licenses from ebay are often.....sketchy at best.

The first part of this covers how to create your own USB.

it costed 65 after tax and shipping.

<Mod Edit> I hope so too. Also here is a photo of the drive's files. I can't tell if this is normal or not. Also, would the key only work on a windows 10 drive or would it work on a windows 8.1 cd cuz I still have that lying around
That license will NOT work on a Win 8.1 install.

But...get a different flash drive, and make a new USB to install with.
See what happens.

What you get is only the OS install media on a cheap USB, not an installed OS.

Windows 10/11 will never boot from USB drive unless you install the OS as Windows to Go, the Enterprise Windows 10 feature that has been discontinued a few years back.

A workaround is to use Rufus for Windows to Go installation. You need another fast USB drive at least 20-30MB/s writing (or fast microSD on a USB reader ) to install on. A cheap/slow USB drive will be killed by the Windows 10 OS in no time.

It does not seem that he's looking for an actual OS to run from a USB, but rather something to boot from and install on an internal drive.

Procedures outlined in the link I posted above.

im a girl bruh. but either way I got it to work by getting a different usb drive and using the key that came with the other usb. The only problem Im having now is getting my system to recognize all the files on my other drives

So has OP replaced the motherboard or not? Is the original boot drive still usable or not? Which one?

So OP has reinstalled the OS and bootable but can't recognize files on other drives? What error message you were getting?
