Hey all, thanks for your help in advance. just bought an APC UPS unit. I have tried every piece of software out there, including PowerChute, WinApcUpsD, WinMust...but I cannot get a single one to work. PowerChute is absurdly complex, requiring creation of a server and then logging into that server through a console, which does not work in any case. I am completely dumbfounded that there is no simple, fundamental piece of software to interface with the ubiquitous APC UPS devices that will just allow me to see the voltage/power situation. What gives??

Solution
There is. It's called powerchute. It came with the UPS. You must bee installing network or business editions. If they don't work then it's probably not the software it's the ups or your system

Voltage isn't important unless you use "complex" software like powerchute. If you just want to see your battery % remaining, plug it in to USB and Windows will tell you what % is remaining

Thanks all! Oops, I didnt see the personal addition listed before.

Oh, and I want to monitor it because i've been having some power interruptions, and I want to know if it's the wall power or something internal like power supply etc.
