I built my PC some time ago, and my monitor just arrived and it came with a VGA cable. The monitor is Dell Monitor S-series SE2416H, 23.8" IPS
So plugged my HDMI cable into my monitor and into the pc when I turned it on it said "No VGA cable connected".I apparently connected the HDMI cable to the motherboard and when I went to plug it into the GPU I realised there is no interface for it.There's only a DVI port.I went to a local tech shop to ask them about it and the guy said the GPU should have it.When I showed him the pic I took of the backside of my PC he said that the black "caps" are where the HDMI port is.I agreed with him and went home only to realise that the black things are just there for securing the GPU to the motherboard..I think
The GPU I'm using is the ASUS gtx 1060.
Realy lost right now and I would seriously appreciate some help

Here's the pic I took of the back side of the PC: http://prntscr.com/godchu

Dell monitors should auto detect the port that is plugged in but in this case it doesnt seem like it is. on the front of the monitor are some buttons, you need to go into the menu and input source and select the HDMI input.

Not knowing the exact GPU you have there should be 1 DVI, 2 Display ports, and 2 HDMI ports on the back of the card, looking at your picture the hdmi ports should the top two ports on the right hand side
Your card has HDMI and the tech was correct. HDMI/DisplayPorts usually have black plugs in them to protect the ports from debris. See the 4 black rectangular caps above your DVI port and the vent? The two on the right side in your photo are the HDMI ports. Take off one of those black caps (may need a pliers as sometimes the caps are a snug fit) to reveal the HDMI port.
